
AYADE'S MONTHLY STIPEND UNITES PARTY FAITHFULS IN CALABAR MUNICIPAL

The monthly stipend approved by the governor of Cross River State, Sir Ben Ayade for All Progressive Congress (APC) party members in the state has become a rallying point amongst party members in ward 5, Calabar Municipal.
It is gathered that, following the allocation of slots to all ward's in the state, the names approved for Calabar Municipal Ward 5 does not seem to capture the key party stakeholders.
In response to the complaints of party members in his community, the Commissioner for Culture & Tourism Development & political leader of Ward 5, Hon. Eric Anderson paid a visit to the Mayor of Calabar Municipal, Elder (High Chief) Efeffiong Nta Eke.
The tourism boss made the call when he led a delegation of members, executive and political office holders from the ward on a courtesy call on the Chairman in his office on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
On his entourage were the Special Assistant to Governor on Entertainment, Effiom Bassey, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Dr Offiong, Essienanwan Eso, Ward 5 councilor and leader of the legislative council, Alex Offiong, Ward 5 chairman, Maria Asumpta, State APC deputy woman leader, zonal leaders and other party faithfuls from the ward.
In his remark, Mr Anderson seized the occasion to request the chairman's review of the list of beneficiaries of the stipend, saying that the yearnings of his people has made it imperative to rejig the list.
The Chairman promised to look into the list and act accordingly, to ensure that the beneficiaries are the true persons the palliative is targeted at, he thanked the Commissioner for the courtesy call, which ended up as a unifying factor, just as the party prepares for the forth coming general elections.
