On Friday, February 12, 2022, the Campaign team of Pastor Umo Eno paid a consultation visit to the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council made up of current Commissioners and Special Advisers serving in the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The meeting which was held in Uyo at the residence of the Dean, College of Commissioners, Dr. Glory Edet also had in attendance the DG, Umo Eno Campaign, Amb. Assam Assam (SAN), Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, the National Coordinator, Maintain Peace Movement and other prominent sons and daughters of Akwa Ibom State.
During the visit, Amb. Assam Assam (SAN), Director General of the Umo Eno Campaign, praised members of the State Executive for their overwhelming support and endorsement of Pastor Umo Eno's candidacy. He thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for facilitating a meeting between the State Executive Council members and the Campaign team to further discuss and reaffirm their unwavering support for Pastor Eno.
Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, the National Coordinator of the Maintain Peace Movement (MPM), also spoke at the meeting and thanked members of the State Executive Council for endorsing Pastor Umo Eno, who also happens to be their colleague. He stressed that all Exco members being members of MPM had earlier given their commitment to supporting the succession vision of Governor Udom Emmmanuel and should stand by their words.
In his speech, the 2023 Governorship hopeful, Pastor Eno said that Governor Udom has worked with all Exco members and “is conscious of the need for continuity and only a member of the Exco can understand the intricacies of the Completion Agenda and continuity, sustainability and accountability”.
Responding on behalf of Uyo Senatorial District, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, expressed gratitude to God that Pastor Eno was chosen, promising that as the Governor's first line of attack and last line of defence, everything possible will be done to promote Pastor Umo Eno's candidacy.
Speaking on behalf of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, the Commissioner for Labour and Manpower, Hon Pastor Sunny Ibuot expressed his joy that the Governor honoured his word that his successor would emerge from the Exco. “It is fulfilling that one of us has been chosen”, he said.
For Eket Senatorial District, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon Okpulum Etteh said the 2023 Governorship bid of Pastor Eno is not a new political battle to them. "We will never betray our product. If we betray this product, we are betraying ourselves. Eket Senatorial District will market and support Umo Eno", he pledged.
Dr Glory Edet, the host and Dean of the College of Commissioners, promised Pastor Eno of the full support and solidarity of Exco members, claiming that members have no reason not to back whoever the Governor chooses because "the hand of God is upon Pastor Umo Eno's aspiration".
Sir Monday Uko, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, gave the vote of thanks, reiterating that the State Executive Council has decided to put everything they have into realising the Umo Eno 2023 Governorship vision.
