Senior Information Technology Officer | Cloud & Cybersecurity Professional
Olanrewaju Adams Agunloye, professionally known as Lanre, is a Senior Information Technology Officer at Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS), where he supports the organisation’s U.S. Department of State ACE-5 Programme.
Born in Nigeria, with professional responsibilities spanning Cross River, Lagos, and Akwa Ibom States, Lanre has more than seven years of progressive experience in information technology, specialising in Microsoft Azure infrastructure, Microsoft 365, enterprise networking, cloud security, and security operations.
He holds several Microsoft certifications, including Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Security Operations Analyst Associate, and Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert. He also holds ITIL v5 and a Leadership and Team Development credential from IBMI Berlin.
Lanre earned an MSc in Data Science with Distinction from the University of East London in 2025, with a focus on AI-driven cybersecurity, following his BSc in Computer Science from Bayero University Kano, earned in 2017.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Lanre is a technology builder who develops practical tools addressing challenges in cloud security, compliance, incident detection, infrastructure management, and sustainability. Through his GitHub account, lanre-adams, he has developed projects including AegisFlow, CloudGuard, M365 Incident Monitor, AERCF, and VM Security Automation.
These projects reflect his interest in translating research and technical knowledge into practical solutions. His work spans cloud governance, cybersecurity automation, explainable artificial intelligence, security monitoring, and the optimisation of cloud resources.
Mentoring the Next Generation
Lanre is also committed to developing future technology professionals. Since March 2025, he has maintained an informal mentoring arrangement with the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Uyo, established in coordination with the Head of Department.
Through the initiative, he shares practical insights with students on building careers in information technology, developing professional skills, and gaining experience beyond the classroom. He has also recommended approximately five students for internship opportunities within his office, giving them exposure to enterprise IT operations.
His mentorship further involves guiding students through small-scale software projects and introducing them to practical aspects of the software development life cycle.
Lanre’s career reflects a combination of enterprise IT experience, cloud and cybersecurity expertise, academic research, technology development, and mentorship. His professional approach is centred on applying technical knowledge to real-world challenges while helping to prepare the next generation of professionals for the evolving technology industry.
