Scheduled to hold every last Thursday of the month in Lagos at the moment, Afromaica is positioning itself more than just a musical event. Organizers describe it as a movement dedicated to reconnecting reggae and dancehall enthusiasts while creating a platform for emerging and established talents related to the genre.
The initiative comes at a time when Afrobeats continues to dominate the mainstream music landscape, leaving reggae and dancehall lovers yearning for dedicated spaces to enjoy and celebrate their preferred sounds. Afromaica seeks to fill that gap by offering a unique experience infused with authentic reggae rhythms, energetic dancehall performances, and a vibrant atmosphere that reflects the essence of Caribbean and African musical heritage.

One of the standout features of the event is its focus on empowering female dance talents, The platform has introduced a special spotlight segment dedicated to showcasing and celebrating Dancehall Queens. During the May edition of Afromaica, Dancehall Queen Unruly Rosemary Micheal who represented Uganda emerged as the event's winner, earning over 1M naira ,recognition and increased media attention through the platform.
The initiative has already begun attracting attention from music lovers and industry stakeholders who see it as a refreshing addition to Lagos' nightlife and entertainment calendar.
