The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Anieti Udofia, has affirmed the State Government’s commitment to expanding its tourism potential under the leadership of Governor Umo Eno.
The commissioner expressed appreciation to the media team for visiting the site, noting that preparations for the event have progressed impressively. He highlighted that the sale and allocation of kiosks have been a success, with 248 corporate kiosks fully taken and 89 open-space kiosks already secured by vendors.
Dr. Udofia further announced new features for this year’s edition, including a special transport system introduced through a partnership between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Transport. The arrangement, he said, brings transport operators on board to provide safe and convenient movement for attendees, especially at night.
He commended Governor Umo Eno, described as a tourism-loving governor, for sustaining and expanding the Christmas Unplugged initiative, noting that the governor’s vision continues to position Akwa Ibom as a prime destination for leisure, culture, and entertainment.
