The electrifying energy of the African Knockout Championship (AKO), a mixed martial arts contest, recently filled the Abuja Velodrome, but the biggest win of the night wasn't in the ring—it was behind the scenes. The fight event, held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, was a masterclass of world-class production, and a significant portion of that success was powered by professionals from Akwa Ibom State.

From the lights and sound, to the massive  screens and overall setup, everything looked like it belonged on an international stage. The most remarkable part? Much of that world-class production was the work of our brothers and sisters from Akwa Ibom State. They didn’t just participate; they were the driving force behind the event's excellence.

The Akwa Ibom professionals who delivered excellence at the event include:- ​Edet Esset (NatureMark Design Studio): Handled all design and branding.- ​Bassey Bassey (Tochlyt Production): Designed the lighting that gave the arena its shine.- ​Princewill Akpan: Handled the screen content.- ​Itoro Akpan: Took charge of sound (FOH).- ​Joel Effiong: Served as Lead System Technician (Light).- ​Saviour Ukpong: Worked as System Technician (Light).- ​Aniekan: Was the Lead System Technician (Sound).- ​Inemesit Enefiok: System Technician (Light).- DJ Romie, the official DJ. 

Their creativity, skill, and hard work transformed the stage into something that matched international standards. This event proves that Akwa Ibomites aren't just talented; they're world-class competitors. It's a call to celebrate these innovators and inspire a new generation of young people from our state to rise, lead, and make a bold statement in their chosen fields.​Truly, the excellent spirit of Akwa Ibomites was on full display in Abuja.
