Utang Akwa Ibom urges entertainers to get PVC

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Entertainment, Mr. David Sergeant, also known as Utang Akwa Ibom, has issued a call to action to entertainers in the state urging them to register for their Permanent Voters Card (PVC).

In his capacity as the International President of the Ibom Entertainers Forum (IEF), Utang Akwa Ibom is encouraging entertainers to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to obtain their Permanent Voters Card (PVC).

Speaking in Uyo on Friday, August 22,2025, he said 'having a PVC is crucial for citizens to exercise their right to vote and participate in shaping the future of their state and country. By registering to vote, entertainers can make their voices heard and contribute to the democratic process.'

The Ibom Entertainers Forum has been actively engaging with entertainers in Akwa Ibom State, promoting talent development and entertainment. The forum has also initiated a membership re-validation exercise to create a database of thousands of talents in and outside the state, ahead of the planned Ibom Entertainment Week scheduled for September.

Utang Akwa Ibom's call to entertainers to get their PVC is a timely reminder of the importance of participating in the democratic process. Entertainers are encouraged to seize this opportunity and register for their PVC, ensuring their voices are heard in the years to come.
