Speech by the Senior Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Entertainment at the inauguration of Central Planning Committee & Press Conference for Ibom Entertainment Week 2025

Distinguished Guests, ladies and gentlemen of the press, fellow Nigerians and Akwa Ibomites 

It is with the great pleasure that I stand before you today to inaugurate the Central Planning Committee of Ibom Entertainment Week 2025 and inform the press about the commencement of plans for the annual Ibom Entertainment Week 2025. 

This event displays the unwavering support and vision of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno PhD, for the development of the entertainment industry in Akwa Ibom State. Ibom Entertainment Week 2025 is an annual epoch-making event that showcases the entertainment industry in Akwa Ibom State. 

This year's edition is specially designed for national prominence, as we intend to play host to members of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN) to mark their 25th anniversary featuring the creme de la creme of Nollywood Filmmakers; led by the President of DGN, Amb. Uche Agbo DGN.

Legendary actors and Directors like Patience Ozokwor Mama G, Sam Dede, Dr. Victor Okhai, Segun Arinze, Teco Benson MFR, Amb. Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, Charles Inojie, Charles Awurum, Zack Orji, Chief Obi Okoli, Fred Amata, Kunle Afolayan, Fidelis Duker, Eve Esin, Dr. Tony Akposheri, Ugezu J Ugezu, Ofia Mbaka, Johnpaul Nwanganga, Ebele Okaro, Ernest Obi, Okey Oku, Francis Duru, Francis Onwoichei, Diewait Ikpechukwu, Ali Nuhu, Nkiru Slyvanus, Andy Boyo, Andy Amenechi, Mac Collins Chidiebe, Walter Anga, Chika Onu, Untouchable Comedy, Chinwe Owoh, Stan K Amandi, Mike Ogundu, Prof. Samuel Ogunbiyi, Mazi Osita Okoli, Caz Chidiebebe, Bond Emeruwa, Dr. Ovunda Ihunwo, Ken Steve Anuka, Jerry Amilo, Adim Williams, Kabatology, Mercy Chinedu, Chinedu Igbo, Noba, Rubby Orjioke, and over 300 Directors expected.

Their participation in Ibom Entertainment Week 2025 will afford them a rare opportunity to have a first-hand experience of the developmental trajectory of this administration and the milestones of the ARISE Agenda so far accomplished.

The 2025 edition of Ibom Entertainment Week is scheduled to hold from September 10th through 14th and shall feature:

- Masterclasses

- Novelty Match

- Happy Hour Concert

- ARISE City Walk

- Face of Ibom Entertainment pageant

- Dinner and Awards from DGN to His Excellency amongst others. 

I am delighted to announce that the Central Planning Committee, led by my friend, brother, and colleague, Godfada Uko, is ready to deliver a never-seen-before kind of event for our dear industry and state. I have no doubt that this committee will work tirelessly to ensure that Ibom Entertainment Week 2025 is a resounding success.

In conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude to His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, for his unwavering support and vision for the development of the entertainment industry in Akwa Ibom State. I believe that Ibom Entertainment Week 2025 will cement the state's commitment to promoting talents, tourism, arts and culture.
