Declare his readiness for the ADIRE OSUN AGBAYE FIESTA 2025.
All is now set for the hosting of the maiden Adire OSUN Agbaye Fiesta in Osogbo, Osun state capital between 10th and 14th of September,2025.
The fiesta with the theme "Adire Osun:a symbol of Yoruba heritage and identity" is designed to promote the timeless artistry, heritage and economic significance of Adire.(Tye and dye)
The Osun State Governor, Senator Jackson Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke said arrangements would be in place to maximally utilize the fiesta to reinforce Adire potential for cultural and economic development of the state.
Receiving the planning committee on the Adire Osun Agbaye Fiesta led by the Special Adviser on Cultural affairs,Prince Ayodeji Olamilekan, governor Adeleke appreciated the committee for the arrangements already put in place.
The governor emphasized that his administration would tap to the fullest the potential of Adire as a thriving cultural industry and a symbol of identity.
Earlier, Prince Olamilekan, the Sango of Africa had briefed the governor on preparation for the fiesta.
He said the four day fiesta would attract Adire makers and sellers from all local governments in the state and states in the south west as well as a symposium on the future of Adire Osun, fashion show also to appreciate some living and dead icons who are true born of OSUN in the areas of arts and culture
According to the special Adviser, former president Olusegun Obasanjo, Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka, Chief Nike Okundaye, and host of other dignitaries, traditional rulers, artists and Art and culture stakeholders are expected to attend the programme.
Governor Adeleke is expected to declare open the fiesta on Thursday, eleventh of September,2025 at Technical College, Osogbo .
