My Journey Through the AkwaCross Entertainment Scene - InternationalBoy

Over the years, I’ve been embraced by the AkwaCross Region, and it’s only right that I share a few thoughts on the current situation.

Is there love in AkwaCross? Absolutely.

Is there hate? Unfortunately, yes.

But let’s take a moment to reflect:

Is there love in every tribe, every region of the world? Yes.

Is there hate in those places too? Without a doubt.

So here’s the truth, we can’t isolate love or hate to any one group or culture. But the difference with the AkwaCross Region is that we are a minority, and as such, we cannot afford to harbor more hate than love. Even the smallest dose of hate can outweigh the love when unity is fragile. That’s why it’s crucial that we hold our heads high and let love lead.

My journey as an artist and music producer began right here in Cross River State. Some of you might remember those early days in my little studio in the heart of Edgerly, Calabar South.

In 2014, I founded InternationalboyMusic, a record label and family, with the support of my late brother Kelvinkul and my first producer Blazez Xclusive. By 2015, we were the rave of the moment.

I was just a teenager then, chasing a big dream:

To nurture, uplift, and grow with the next generation of superstars from AkwaCross and Beyond.

We raised amazing talents like Godwin Dibang (the Skama crooner), Kenny Exy, Mary Okpo Ben, and Valentine Esene, Most proudly hailing from the AkwaCross region.

My first radio interview was gifted to me by Ralph Udofa and I was also warmly welcomed and embraced by Hon Effiong Ekpenyong JP  at CRBC Radio and TV which became my second home.

Shoutout to Ejino Omo-Abijawara ValentineDuke-Emmanuel Ok  Fada Kane, Lastprophetcfr, Proff Aboki, Comedian Koboko Bitto Bryan Arumun Mercy Ebokpo Akpang and many other great personalites. Your unwavering support through the years played a major role in my career life.

My achievements today are rooted in the positive seeds you all planted in my journey.

I could go on and on, as the list of these amazing persons/brands is endless, and thats to show how much I have benefited from the Akwacross Region.

So, was there love? Yes, and I’ve been a direct beneficiary of that love.

Was there hate? Sure, but like everyone else, I’ve taken it in stride. Still, it would be unfair to judge this beautiful community by the hate, when the love has clearly outweighed it.

To my fellow creatives, just a word of advice.

The above mentioned names/brands didn’t owe me any support and I was never entitled to anything from them. It would be completely wrong for any or everyone to feel entitled to their support in any way. The goal is to work hard/smart to be successful, Pray that your craft is genuinely recognized and speaks for you in due time. With this mindset we would learn not to harbor grief or hate within ourselves.

Let us rise above our differences.

Let us choose unity.

Let us rebuild what we once had.

A peaceful AkwaCross is possible, if we let love lead. ❤️

With love and gratitude,Internationalboy.
