In a significant meeting held on Monday, June 16,2025, the Face of Tourism South South Nigeria, Queen Mary Aliko had a fruitful discussion with the Commissioner for Marketing,Cross River Carnival Commission, Honourable Effiom Bassey a.k.a Trombone.
The meeting,which took place at the Commissioner's office in Calabar,was marked by warm hospitality and productive dialogue, just as it marks a significant step in fostering collaboration between the Face of Tourism South South Nigeria and the Cross River Carnival Commission, with potential benefits for tourism development and community engagement in the region and beyond.
Benue born Miss Mary briefed the commissioner on her project "Supporting the Less Privileged and Creating Awareness on Sanitation", which he offered valuable insights and suggestions for further development.Also using the opportunity to call for relief in her home state.
Commissioner Effiom sympathised with the families lost in Benue. In response to her,he emphasized the importance of taking tourism promotion to the next level. Given Cross River's status as a tourism state, the Face of Tourism organization received an official invitation to participate in this year's 20th Anniversary of Carnival Calabar this December.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties parting ways amicably and taking photographs together. The Commissioner assured the Face of Tourism representative that he would present her proposal to the commission and follow up accordingly.
