MUSICIANS DEFY RAIN TO MARK WORLD MUSIC DAY IN AKWA IBOM STATE

As ME LOUNGE throw weight behind historic outing!

The Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Entertainment Industry, Mr David Sergeant (Utang Akwa Ibom) hosted hundreds of musicians in the state to make history today, Monday, June 21,2021 on the occasion of the World Music Day.

The governor's aide led music talents in the state on a walk to mark the 2021 World Music Day amidst pomp and pageantry, even under the rain.

According to Utang Akwa Ibom in his remark, the walk, with the theme, 'Towards Patronizing Indigenous Musicians' is to advocate for more patronage of Akwa Ibom artistes by individuals and companies in the state, so as to enable them to earn a living.

The outing was sponsored by frontline hospitality outfit, ME Lounge & Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS). Artistes, who were drawn from various music groups in the state to be represented on the float, expressed their joy of being part of the march, which is the first of it's kind.

In separate statements, participants took turns to send their gratitude to the state government for the recognition and support.
