A Twitter user has narrated the harrowing experience his mother, his siblings and himself were put through after his father died, and how they fought back.
In the name of fulfilling the customs and traditions of an Igbo burial, @TheIgboWolf said his family was not allowed to grieve in peace, instead, his father's family, the ?m? Ada, and the ?m? Nna kept interfering in their lives and making demands.
He gave specific details of some of the things they were put through. He added that they were able to fight the custodians of tradition because his mother bore four sons and they didn't sit idly by and watch her get humiliated.
His mother's sisters were also present to fight for her when their father's family tried to bully her.
After he shared his story, others who endured similar treatments when they lost their fathers also shared their stories.
