Launch 'I am a DIGITAL ENTERTAINER' campaign
Entertainers in Cross River State have passed a vote of confidence on the governor of the state, His Excellency, Sir Ben Ayade.
The motion was moved by foremost event manager, Sylva Bogbo at the first ever Cross River Entertainment Roundtable held in Calabar on Thursday, September 19, 2019.
The vote of confidence was moved and duly seconded by a frontline musician, Shanky at the roundtable which had in attendance hundreds of entertainers from Artistes Forum, led by Orok Duke, Comedians Guild, led by MC Seto, the Disc Jockeys Association, led by DJ Sacra, Dancers Association represented by the P.R.O, Godstime Ekpo, Entertainment Bloggers, led by Jaro Davids, Talent & Event Managers, led by Senge Menge, while the Modelling & Fashion sector was represented by Don Hardy.
In his keynote address, ace movie producer and the CEO of FAD FM, Mr Fidelis Duker charged the artistes to invest and rely on their creative content, which will in the long run pave way for them, instead of depending on government. Mr Duker confessed to the abundance of talent in the state, saying his entire team and members of staff at the second private radio station in Calabar is made up of homegrown talents .
In line with the digitalisation by the current administration, Cross River Entertainers, led by the SA to the Governor on Entertainment, Effiom 'Trombone' Bassey have decided to adopt digital strategies, measures and platforms to promote their craft.
The DIGITAL ENTERTAINER campaign launched by the Special Assistant to Governor on Entertainment is in conformity with the mantra of Governor Ben Ayade who is known as the Digital Governor of Cross River State.
Effiom hinted that his office is in talks with Boomplay, Africa Magic and Iroko TV to open links for the spread of creative works by talents in the state, starting with works by musicians, comedians and actors.
Asides the General Manager of Sparkling FM, Mr Effiong Nyong, the roundtable had in attendance state government officials from the former Commissioner for Culture & Tourism who is a film maker, Senior Special Assistant Governor's Office & Events, Mr Noel Ugbong, his colleague on Obudu Ranch, Mr Joe Edet, Special Assistant Strategic Communication, Andrea Ekeng,
A digital entertainment working committee was inaugurated, comprising of heads of all sectors, to assist Effiom in running affairs of the industry.
