The Governor of Cross River State, Sir Ben Ayade has graciously approved the appointment of highlife musician and 'Ikwo Calabar' crooner, Effiom Trombone as his Special Assistant on Entertainment.
The appointment was confirmed in a release on the appointees birthday, August 29, 2019 and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Christian Ita.
In a chat to get his reaction to the appointment, the music administrator referred to the leadership of Prof Ben Ayade of Cross River State as a gift to the people at a time like this. Effiom made the statement while reacting to questions regarding the position of entertainment in Cross River State under the administration of Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade. He said Governor Ayade is an asset to Cross River, considering his love for the entertainment industry and his 10 Billion Naira Investment earlier proposed and approved by the state House of Assembly.
He thanked His Excellency, Sen. Ben Ayade for the call to serve and promised to give in his best on the job to deliver on the Governor's mandate, also as service to motherland and humanity.
According to Mr Trombone, "Entertainers and practitioners are blessed to have a leader who understands the value of entertainment and the power it pocesses to change the fortunes of the state."
On what to expect from the next 3 years, he said, it will be a season of robust and bountiful harvest for stake holders and practitioners in Cross River State. He charged entertainers to position themselves for the harvest.
Effiom is expected to bring to bare his years of experience in the entertainment industry, by launching initiatives to better the lot of entertainers in Cross River State, in this digital era.
