It started as a successful song titled Made In Calabar by Kiing Shanky Washerbeats; an Artiste, Administrator and Entertainment-entrepreneur. The song was made popular by an urban-contemporary Radio station in Calabar; Hit 95.9fm.
The song became an instant hit in Calabar and this encouraged its maker to began to diversify the essence of the brand; creatively presenting the Made In Calabar title as not just a song; but a brand franchise that has evolved into a urban clothing line of T-shirts, pants & snap-back hats called "M.I.C", meaning Made In Calabar.

The Artiste/entrepreneur expanded it further to what the State celebrates as the Made In Calabar (Live Show); a monthly show in Calabar that seeks to project indigenous entertainment entrepreneurs like himself; (Artistes, Artists, Models, MC's, comedians, O.A.P, Disc Dockeys, Stage/craft managers, Make-up Artists, Dancers, etc).
Just like the slogan of the show goes... "Made In Calabar", with the response, "Celebrating Our Own", we use this medium to call on the State Government to see viability in home grown Acts and brains and seize platforms like the Made In Calabar (Live Show) and its partners to empower indigenous internal intelligence; in this regard - entertainment entrepreneurs, thus averting brain drain in the State and in the nearest future begin to export them; sorting means to diversification in revenue generation and curb unemployment.
