This happened yesterday in Uyo, at Ibiam street. @ about 5:00 early hours of the day.
The young man stole a 58 inches plasma television from a viewing center and was caught in the act while some of his gang members took to their heel.
His hand was chopped off, and he was beaten thoroughly by some angry youths who said the crime rate in the locality was too much... they've being stealing flatroon television from the owner of the place.
The thief was lucky enough to be rescued by some police officer who stopped them from taking laws into their hands.
Hence his wage for stealing...
