Major sister- state collaboration in view
Popular musician and leader of the Ayade Band, Effiom Trombone also known as Eyen Calabar today, Saturday, October 20, 2018 met with the Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Entertainment Industry, Mr David Sergeant a.k.a Utang Akwa Ibom in Uyo.
The impromptu meeting, according to Effiom, was to among other issues, intimate the governor's aide on the progress made so far in the planning of Paradise Music Festival & Awards (PMFA) Season 5, which has for two editions now, captured and rewarded entertainers from Akwa Ibom and Cross River States.
PMFA which is in its 5th edition is tagged 'The 5 Star Edition' with the theme : 'Music Beyond Borders'. Nominations for the award was open for creative works from Cross River and Akwa Ibom released within the period under review (September2017- September 2018).
Following the closure of nomination for PMFA 2018 which ended on Wednesday, October 10. 2018, the Nomination List for Akwa- Cross's most celebrated music recognition awards was published on the website.
Utang Akwa Ibom appreciated Effiom Trombone for his efforts in making the entertainment industry vibrant and the involvement of Akwa Ibom entertainers in the scheme of things in Cross River.
He announced that plans are in the kitty on a project to encourage friendly competitions to spur talents in both states.
