THE FES DINNER AND AWARDS 2017
Over the years, the faculty of Environmental Sciences in the University of
Lagos has become home to the most brilliant, successful and fashion-forward
students seen in the entire university. Countless practicing professional,
brand ambassadors, beauty queens, event personalities have all emerged from
the success breeding nest that is the faculty of environmental sciences.
In the vein to recognize the contributions that boarder the circles of
Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Leadership and humanitarian initiatives, of
these young people (not excluding the academic and non-academic staff)
towards nation building and global development, the initiative of a
platform that would bring everyone together in a formal but social
atmosphere birthed an award in 2010 by the students’ Executive committee,
which was the first edition. It was a success and a memorable one as
students’ turnout was massive, lecturers, alumnus and other notable
personalities from the institution and corporate bodies alike graced the
occasion.
Now, the stage is all set for what will be the most prestigious recognition
of students and staff contribution towards nation building- THE FES DINNER
AND AWARDS 8th EDITION. Themed La Vie Royale
This year’s edition has 35 categories which is divided into 3 sorts with
sort A focusing on achievements within all the individual departments in
the faculty, hence nominations are restricted to individuals from their
respective departments in the faculty.
While sort B comprises of non-voting categories such as the Best Graduating
student, The Fessa Balon D’or which is a function of the statistics from this year’s Dean’s cup and the last category in this sort is the Special
recognition awards to students and staff who have left indelible marks in
deeds in the annals of history of the faculty that are worthy of
recognition.
The Last Sort, Sort C simply tends to recognize those whose influence and
achievement can be seen over the faculty as a whole.
